William Morris Sixth Form School in Hammersmith appointed meld directly to prepare a feasibility study for development options which would form part of the school’s application for BSF funding being made to the local borough and education authority. Through a series of diagrammatic layouts, sketches and massing models we explored a number of site strategies looking at things such as:
- preferred location of main entrance
- appropriate amounts of additional floor area
- extent of demolition of existing buildings
- relationship of new building to surrounding context
- requirement for multi-use games area
- relocation and provision of on-site car parking
The options are under re-consideration after the withdrawal of BSF funding and we await further instruction.
