These images show some of our concept design studies for extending a house in the East Sussex countryside. The proposals include providing guest bedrooms, studio and office spaces in an L-shaped extension wrapping around the lower ground level of the existing house which is re-clad and extensively remodelled internally.
We propose using orientated strand board as an internal wall lining as well for the shuttering to the cast concrete on the outside, giving a richly textured surface finish. The concrete will also be left exposed on the internal retaining wall below the existing house. A bronze anodised finish is proposed for the window frames which are brought flush with the external walls.
