The adjacent images and drawings show our initial design option for a mixed-use development in Windsor compromising of two new dwellings, over existing retail space at ground floor level.

Preserving the integrity of the Victorian terrace and listed elevation to Peascod Street while exploring the less restricted architecturally diverse 3-4 storey context of Charles Street, the proposed one bedroom flat is located in the existing ceiling void and unused storage space above the commercial unit, while a second floor is added to the rear section accommodating the two bedroom maisonette.

Our contemporary design response, in a simply composed form incorporating carefully proportioned and subtly detailed elements, offers a new frontage to Charles Street inviting similarly ambitious responses from neighbouring properties.
